Copyright Policy
Last Updated: April 6, 2025
Typeshutter (the "Platform"), operated by Typeshutter LLC ("we" or "us"), is committed to respecting intellectual property rights. This Copyright Policy explains our practices regarding user content ownership and how we address copyright infringement, consistent with our Terms of Service and applicable law. It also outlines the process for copyright owners to report alleged infringement and for users to respond to such claims. By using Typeshutter, you agree to comply with this policy.
Ownership of User Content
Users retain ownership of the original content they create, upload, or post on Typeshutter. This includes any text, images, artwork, or other materials you generate - including content created with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools, as permitted by our Terms of Service. You own your content. Posting it on our Platform does not transfer ownership to Typeshutter or the Operator.
By uploading or creating content on Typeshutter, you represent that you have the necessary rights to that content and that it does not infringe any third party's copyrights or other intellectual property rights. You retain copyright in your work, but by using our service you grant Typeshutter a license to display, distribute, and otherwise use your content as needed to provide our services (as detailed in our Terms of Service). This license does not diminish your ownership. It simply allows us to operate the Platform (for example, to show your content to other users).
Respect for Intellectual Property Rights
Typeshutter respects all creators' intellectual property rights and expects our users to do the same. Our Terms of Service require that you only upload content that you own or have permission to use. Do not upload or post any material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights. If you violate these rules, we may remove the content and take appropriate action against your account.
Removal of Infringing Content
If we become aware that content on Typeshutter violates copyright law or this Copyright Policy (for example, through a notice from a copyright owner under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)), we may remove or disable access to that content. It is our policy to act expeditiously when notified of clear copyright infringement. We may also notify the user who posted the content of the removal and the reason for it.
DMCA Takedown Notice Procedure
If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on a copyright owner's behalf) and believe that content on Typeshutter infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA Takedown Notice to request its removal. Your notice should be in writing and include the following:
-
Identification of Copyrighted Work: A description of the copyrighted work (or a representative list of works) that you claim has been infringed.
-
Infringing Material Location: Identification of the material on Typeshutter that you claim is infringing, with information reasonably sufficient to locate it (for example, the URL of the page where the content appears).
-
Contact Information: Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
-
Good Faith Statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
-
Accuracy and Authority: A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.
-
Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or the person authorized to act on the owner's behalf. (Typing your full legal name at the end of your notice is sufficient as an electronic signature.)
Send the DMCA notice to Typeshutter's designated copyright agent at support@typeshutter.com. Please title your email "DMCA Takedown Notice" for clarity. Upon receiving a complete and valid notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content and notify the user who posted it of the action.
Counter-Notification (If Your Content Was Removed)
If you believe that content you posted on Typeshutter was removed by mistake or misidentification (for example, in response to a false claim of infringement), you have the right to submit a DMCA Counter-Notification. Your counter-notice must be in writing and include:
-
Identification of Removed Content: The material that was removed or disabled, and the location (such as the URL) where it appeared before removal.
-
Good Faith Belief: A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
-
Contact Information: Your name, address, and telephone number.
-
Consent to Jurisdiction: A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district of your address (or, if you reside outside the United States, for any judicial district in which Typeshutter may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notice or their agent.
-
Signature: Your physical or electronic signature (for example, typing your full name).
Please send your counter-notification to support@typeshutter.com with the subject line "DMCA Counter-Notification." When we receive a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the party who filed the original infringement claim. If the original claimant does not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action to restrain the alleged infringement, we may restore the removed content.
Repeat Infringer Policy
Typeshutter takes repeat infringement seriously. In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable laws, we have a policy of disabling or terminating the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances. This means that if you repeatedly post content that infringes others' copyrights, your account may be suspended or terminated after multiple offenses. We track notices of infringement and will act when users persistently violate intellectual property rights.
Knowingly False or Fraudulent Notices
Please note that knowingly submitting a false claim of copyright infringement is illegal and may result in liability for damages, court costs, and attorneys' fees under the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)). The same applies to knowingly submitting a false counter-notification. Typeshutter reserves the right to pursue legal remedies against anyone who abuses the DMCA process by sending fraudulent or bad-faith notices.
